When you decide to download precision treatment files for use in the field or in different software, the system will ask you to choose a file format:
- shp – also called a Shapefile, ESRI shapefile, .shp. You can edit this file yourself in GIS software – for experienced users.
- ISOXML – file format used in ISOBUS compatible machinery.
- anl – file format compatible with AGROCOM MAP software
- csv – basic file format for tabular data, accessible in e.g. Excel
- kml – this can be used in Google Earth
- terminal’s format – CHOOSE THIS OPTION if you plan to use the files in your field machinery. Remember to correctly define the terminal during precision treatment creation
After you’ve chosen the “terminal’s format” option, your browser will download a zip file. To access the precision treatment, you will have to extract the files (on Windows PCs – right click > Extract all).
The files contained in the zip file are the digital form of the maps you created within SatAgro. Depending on the terminal you chose while creating your files, these files may be contained in a directory (AgData, AgGPS, Rx, TASKDATA…) or come in the form of a collection of files with the following extensions:
- .shp, .shx, .dbf if your terminal uses shapefiles (shp)
- .xml and .bin if your terminal uses the ISOXML standard
The entire content of the zip file makes up the precision treatment together – leaving out any of the components may make the files unreadable to the terminal. When importing the files into your terminal copy the entire content of the zip file.
NOTE: In some instructional materials, shapefiles may also be called .shp – please remember to also copy the rest of the files (.shp, .dbf, .shx).
